Mary McPartlan, originally from Drumkeerin, County Leitrim, is the Academic Coordinator and Director of Arts in Action at the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Traditional music lovers around the world know Mary better as a marvelously talented singer with two much-praised recordings of traditional song, The Holland Handkerchief (2005) and Petticoat Loose (2008).
We will take advantage of her extended stay in New York City as a Fulbright scholar at CUNY to present her in concert at Glucksman Ireland House, where she will be joined by musical collaborators.
Free admission to Members of Glucksman Ireland House and to all students/faculty with a valid NYU I.D. card. For non-members: $15 donation at the door for the Blarney Star Concert Series.
