Glucksman Ireland House presents

The Barney Star Concert Series: Dónal Maguire

Friday, December 11th at 9pm

at Glucksman Ireland House NYU

A native of Co. Louth, Donál Maguire is a leading tenor banjo and mandolin player and one of the best exponents of unaccompanied Irish traditional singing in the English language.

He developed his style in the London Singers’ Club at the side of artists such as Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger. His 1979 recording The Star of Sunday’s Well is one of the classics of the Irish folk revival and he has since issued several excellent recordings, including Michael Davitt: The Forgotten Hero.
