The Blarney Star Concert Series: Oisín Mac Diarmada and Séamus Begley
Friday, May 10, 2013, 8:00 p.m.
at Glucksman Ireland House NYU
We wouldn't normally schedule back-to-back, fiddle-and-button-accordion concerts, but you simply can't turn down the chance to book a duo as spectacularly gifted and entertaining as this one. Sligo native Oisín Mac Diarmada, a founder of the group Teada, is one of Ireland's most original traditional fiddle stylists. Séamus Begley, from a famed musical family on Kerry's Dingle peninsula, is a magnificent interpreter of sean nós (old-style) Irish language songs and a superb box player who achieved international renown for his collaborations with guitarist Steve Cooney
Free admission to Members of Glucksman Ireland House and to all students/faculty with a valid NYU I.D. card. For non-members: $15 donation at the door for the Blarney Star Concert Series.
Tickets at the door only; the Blarney Star Concert Series does not accept reservations.
