5 September    Frank McCourt reads from Angela’s Ashes.

15 September  Irish film series: Korea, a film dealing with social change and emigration and how these affect a father/son relationship, based on a story by John McGahern.

18 September  Joseph O’Connor reads from Sweet Liberty: Travels in Irish America, with an introduction by Pete Hamill.

25 September  Nicholas Canny, Professor of History at University College Galway, speaks on “Fashioning ‘British’ Worlds in the 17th Century: A Consideration of the Ulster Plantation in an Atlantic Context.”

2 October        Brian Moore reads from his latest novel, The Statement.

9 October        Marion McEvoy presents an evening of words and music, sketching the life of James Joyce’s mother, Mary Jane Joyce.

15 October      “The Happy Heart Is True,” a benefit evening of spiritual music and song featuring Nóirín Ní Riain, in support of NYU’s Irish Studies Fund.

18 October      “Ireland: In a Critical Condition?” A roundtable discussion with Professors Denis Donoghue, Seamus Deane, Kevin Whelan, and Luke Gibbons.

23 October      Tomás Ó Cathasaigh, Harvard Professor of Irish Studies, speaks on “Early Irish King Tales: The Tragic Tale of Conaire the Great.”

24 October      Oíche Airneál: an evening of Irish traditional song and conversation entirely in Irish with Pádraig Ó Cearúill.

30 October      Marie Heaney reads from her re-creation of the early Irish sagas, Over Nine Waves.

6 November    Kit DeFever opens an exhibition of photographic watercolor prints entitled “Befitting Emblems: Scenes from the West of Ireland.”

14 November  Denis Donoghue, Professor of English and American Letters at NYU, speaks on “Taking Yeats’s Word for It: The Politics of Irish Literature.”

19 November  Irish film series:Cal, directed by Pat O’Connor.

2 December     Kitty Sullivan presents an evening of Irish song and story.

8 December     “Commemorating the Irish Famine,” a panel discussion chaired by Avril Doyle, featuring Professors Kevin Whelan, Luke Gibbons, and Robert Scally.

12 December   Airneál na Nollag: a holiday carol celebration in Irish and English with Pádraig Ó Cearúill, director of An Scoil Nua.
